Introduction: Creativity. Can You See What I See?

Submitted by Visual Forgery on Sunday, 5 October 2008No Comment

Can you see what I see? – Maybe, may be not. But what does this mean?

Before we define and go into what creativity is, lets take a step back and talk about vision and what they call the ‘eye’ for photography.

green eye I’m sure when we are out with our friends or photography club we don’t all see or want to take pictures of the same thing. For example, while we’re walking ahead on the dirt trail in our local park we might not notice the same pink flower as one of our fellow members, or the rusty old ornament hidden away behind the trees or the countless macro opportunities around. Seeing them and noticing potential is one thing, but also knowing what to do once you’re there is a completely different stage.

Now, I’m sorry to disappoint you, but no one can actually explain any rules to you that will teach you how to pick out everything (if only!), but there are countless principles and various techniques which this category will definitely help you learn how to see. Another key intention of this category is to also explain various methods to make that dull ordinary photograph into something special. You know… giving it the edge. There won’t ever be any kind of camera that picks out every single opportunity for you, or lets you take macro shots and landscape shots with the same lens – not yet anyway. Until then, you are going to have to practice to meet the gap of what you might want to call that ‘flaw’ with the camera.

Until then, happy shooting. We’ll be discussing what ‘creativity’ can be defined as next time, don’t forget to visit soon! Remember you can also subscribe with our RSS Feeds.
