Get Started Together
There is nothing better than spending time with others who share the same interests as you, especially when they’re at the same level in learning. And yes, I’m talking about photography of course! Learning in groups is excellent, you can monitor each others progress, share tips and ideas and motivate one another. The obvious way to get this done is by meeting with a circle of friends, but there are many other ways too, you know. So, how can you meet other people with the same passion about photography like you?
Well, firstly, if you’re still attending educational institutions like high schools and colleges/universities, you should have come across various groups or soceities which focus on one particular interest, and everyone
who shares it simply join it. This is a hassle free way to create contacts and learn very quickly. They often would arrange events and discuss various ways in which you can improve your techniques. They would probably meet once or twice a week, so it doesn’t really interfere with the rest of your life.
However, if that stage is life is well and truely gone for you, you can still scan around for communities within your area who share interests on photography – and yes, they do exist! These small, little groups are contained within the area or district and they probably don’t advertise stupidly either, so it makes it slightly difficult to find them. Nevertheless, they may or may not have an online presence so a quick search with details of your area might just yeild some results. Further, these sort of little communities are different from the university soceities you may have experienced. They may get very little funding and it is quite likely that they consist of mature photographers – which can be both a good and a bad thing.
Finally, if all else fails and no one wants you, you can still stick around with us ![]()
